This workshop is designed to provide an overview of cataloging issues.  Topics to be discussed include: an overview of the MARC format; cataloging uses for the MARC format; and uses for the MARC format that extend beyond cataloging.

None.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Recognize the importance of consistent and appropriate use of the MARC format in building a database for use in an automated library system.
