Microsoft Excel for Libraries: Introduction

Description:

This workshop introduces participants to the basic features of Microsoft Excel including basic worksheet components, creating and copying formulas, using functions, formatting cells, and getting help.  Participants will create four spreadsheets that have practical applications for libraries:  Board Report, Circulation Report, New Titles, and Friends Membership List.

Target Audience:

This workshop is designed for people who have little to no experience with spreadsheet software.


Prerequisites:

None.

Length:

5 hours; can be adjusted to meet the needs of the workshop sponsor.

Method of Instruction:

Lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice time.


Equipment Needed:

Microcomputer lab with Microsoft Excel software installed.
